6 Months !
6 Months without going to the sea, taking real holidays, surfing waves.
6 Months without feeling the water all around me, duck diving, having some good wipe outs.
As far as I remember it's the first time in my life it happens. I do not like this experience.
I keep going on for the moment, caught by a wave of work. I hope it's worth it. So, like a shark, I keep swimming in this sea of nonsense, because, if I stop, I'll die.
But like a shark, I will find the right place to enjoy a new hunting territory. And I will be the sharpest wave hunter of this territory.

Nano, Sir Hillary and other elements

The Nano : This little cheap car, built by TATA group, to offer the possibility for poorest Indian families, to travel more safely by car. This raise the question of the real impact of progress on the earth. Sure it will allow people to avoid being 4 on a motorcycle, and so it looks safer. But it will increase the traffic jam, the pollution, and given the way the car is built I am not sure it will save lives during car crashes. I definitely vote against this idea. It would be much better to invest in a real safe, clean, infrastructure of public transport (subways, tramways, ...).

Sir Edmund Hillary death : He was a living legend, he is know a legend ! Now he is higher he ever was. So long Sir.

The never ending show : France is now a very normal country, with its political class lost among the usual "people" problems. Shopping, holidays, divorces, weddings. People from the left wing are hired by the right wing, and vice-versa. The big mess is on and looks like it will never stop. I never found politics really interesting in this country, but today it's worse. Does it still makes sense to vote for these people. I prefer playing with fake money on www.bbc.co.uk/celebdaq/. It's a shame Nicolas Sarkozy, Cecilia (Sarkozy ?? I do not even know her name now), and Carla Bruni are not in the list of celebs. I would have been virtually rich if they were in :-)

The US : 4 years ago I was among American people in Central Asia. Most of them voted Bush. I hope that today, given the situation in Afghanistan, Irak and given the economy in the US, there will be a real change and the US government will find an exit to the wars GIs are engaged in.

Afghanistan : 137 suicide bombings in 2007, compare to 141 in 2006. Less attacks but more casualties (+50%). Terrorists are more efficient and a conventional war and strategy will not stop this. There is an emergency to find a new strategy, invent new ways to stop this violence. More discussions, more humility ? Unfortunately I do not have the solution. But for sure, the strategy used in Irak and Afghanistan are not working at all.

Movies : A lot of US movies about terror, war, attacks, Afghanistan. Lions for lambs, the kingdom , Charlie Wilson's war. Add to these movies, Blackhawk Down, Syriana and L'etoile du Soldat and you'll get a lot of elements to better understand, read, listen the current wars.

Netvibes users, read this !

Yes, netvibes uses, read this post.
I have noticed sometimes ago that the number of feed readers was changing from days to days.
Sometimes less than 50 readers, and sometimes more than 180 !
I was wondering why, and I have the answer : netvibes seems to have some problems.
Effectively,  I have approx. 126 readers of my feed, using netvibes.
But sometimes, the service seems to fall down, and so the number of readers of my feed for this time.
It's obvious when I look at the feeds stats in feedburner.
So, Netvibes users, if sometimes you do not see my feeds in your page, it may be because of Netvibes.

The Sand Game Mystery !

No, I will not speak about real sand, because it's been a very long time since I've seen real sand and waves. Too busy, too far away from the ocean, but believe me, next time I'll go surfing, it'll be hours and hours in the waves, no rest !
So what is the sand game mystery ? Well, this is a strange little phenomenon on the stats of this blog. I created months ago, a photo album entitled : Kidibi. In this photo album there is a picture called "sandgames". And this picture brings me TREMENDOUS traffic through search engines (yes, for  the past month  36 visits are related to this key word "sandgames").
I know, I know, it's a very low figure, but what's interesting is that this "sandgames" brings me more visits than all the other words I use in my posts.
That was the curiosity of the day for me. Nothing really relevant, nothing about Obama/Clinton, or Bill Gates retirement, or Sarkozy future wedding with Carla Bruni. Just few words about Sandgames, and the story of the picture of one of my kid playing in the sand.

Ah, yes, I'm currently reading "la mort blanche" written by Olivier Weber. I really like it. It manages to give the smell and atmosphere in Afghanistan nowadays.
